FingerTech 5V 4A UBEC The FingerTech 5V 4A UBEC is a compact switching regulator that steps down any 2S–6S LiPo to a clean, stable 5V at up to 4A. If you’re running brushless drive ESCs that don’t have a built-in BEC — like the BL40A AM32 — there’s no 5V return line feeding your receiver. This UBEC fills that gap, wiring directly from your battery to your receiver to keep your radio link solid no matter what’s happening on the drive side. Switching Regulator — Not Linear This is a switching regulator, not a linear one. Linear regulators burn off excess voltage as heat — inefficient and bulky. This UBEC converts the excess efficiently, running cooler and drawing less from your battery. At 6.3g and the same footprint as the 9.6V version, it adds almost nothing to your build. Wiring It Up Hook up the UBEC’s IN /− wires to your battery after your power switch. Plug the black output connector into your receiver. If any of your ESCs have built-in BECs, pull the center red wire from those connectors — you don’t want multiple voltage sources fighting over your receiver’s power rail. One source, clean power. Which UBEC Do I Need? This is the UBEC for receiver power. If you’re also running a 9V-rated servo — like the FingerTech 9V digital servo — on a 3S or higher battery, you’ll need the 9.6V 4A Switching UBEC for that servo separately. Standard servos rated 4.8–6.8V do not need a UBEC when running on 2S. Sold individually. Includes a 20cm (7.9in) servo wire.
