It is a very effective training aid for beginners and intermediates and can be used by both adults and children. Studies have proven that using a balance cushion can greatly benefit muscle strength, balance, coordination, posture and in particular core stability. Being 340mm in diameter and easily inflated and deflated it is ideal to take when traveling and easy to store. The Balance cushions can be used standing or sitting. For sitting place the BCM1424 on a chair and sit on the small dimpled side to improve posture, prevent slouching, strengthen core abdominal muscles and help reduce back pain. The shape of the balance cushion encourages the user to actively work the back’s supporting muscles in order to remain stable thus encouraging ‘active sitting’ whilst remaining comfortable. The Balance cushion is widely recommended for use by children with ADHD. The dimpled surface activates sensory perception whilst the ‘active sitting’ exercises are thought to stimulate and strengthen those areas of the brain responsible for learning and attention span in young sufferers.
